How to play Pai Gow Poker

Pai gow poker is a poker variant played with a 53 card deck, including a joker.

Each hand begins by making the first initial wager. The poker player is dealt a 7 (seven) card hand, that she arranges in one 5 card poker hand and one 2 card poker hand.

The first hand, the five card hand is ranked according to the hand rankings in poker, exept that A-2-3-4-5 straight is counted as the second highest scoring straight poker hand. The second hand, with two cards is calculated from a similar point of view, the highest ranking txo cards poker hand is a pair of aces and the lowest is a 2-3 hand.

When the player has arranged her hands the dealer arranges her/his hand accoridng to the house way, a set of fixed rules, controling the dealers hand arrangement. After the player has arranged. The dealers five card hand is compared to the one of the poker player five card hand. The highest ranking handn wins, then the same comparison is made between the two card hands. If both hands are an exact match between the player and the dealer, it is a draw called a copy, the tie goes to the banker.

If the player wins over the dealer with both her hands the poker player wins the pot minus a 5% commission to the house. If the player wins one of the hands and loses one of them. The bet is a push, i.e the bet is returned. If the player loses both the player loses the entire wager.

There are some pai gow rules arranging the hands. The two cards hand may not be more worth than the five card poker hand. If it is it is cinsidered cheating and the player loose teh money.

The joker may be used to complete a straight, flush, or straight flush, in all other combinations it is treated as an ace.

It doesn't matter how the player arranges her hands. The Fortune bet is based on the full 7-card hand.
